Natural Asset Protection Agency (NAPA) is an Australian Company providing regional (Australia & SE Asia) solutions to wildfires and haze.

NAPA provides consultancy and on the ground wildfire suppression and mitigation services to both Government and Industry.

NAPA since 2013, has focused heavily on the complex peatland subterranean wildfires of SE Asia. These fires release large amounts of co2 and thick acrid smoke which inflicts millions of citizens with respiratory ailments.

Naturally wet peatlands are drained for the purposes of developing intensive agriculture. The drying peat becomes highly flammable and burns easily. Ignition sources are many and varied and prevention is complex. The resulting haze presents a major environmental problem for the broader region.

Native forests of SE Asia are also vulnerable to wildfire from traditional slash and burn methods of agriculture. Management of these traditional practices, in a sustainable sense, is also complex. NAPA aims for a whole of tenure approach when dealing with the suppression of wildfire on peat lands.
